ST. PAUL SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT
WE, THE FAITH COMMUNITY OF ST. PAUL SCHOOL, ARE COMMITTED TO THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OF GOD'S CHILDREN. WE ARE DEDICATED TO CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT NURTURES EACH STUDENT'S POTENTIAL AND DEVELOPS LIFELONG FAITH, MORAL VALUES, ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT, HEALTHY SELF-ESTEEM AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.
EXEMPLARY RECOGNITION
St. Paul Catholic School was chosen in 1995 by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as a winner of the Exemplary Recognition Award. This award is given to schools which have demonstrated exemplary accomplishment in one of several areas. St. Paul was honored for the area of Mission. The following are excerpts from the visiting team's report:
"It was evident from our very first meetings with students and staff that the Mission statement… was, in fact, a lived Message."
"Demonstration of the Mission was evident through the conversations with students, parents, staff, and school and parish leaders. Students embrace the Mission and are able to articulate the critical elements of that Mission, … there is the sense of outreach and support for those in need beyond the local parish/school community."
PHILOSOPHY OF ST. PAUL SCHOOL
At St. Paul we strive together in building faith and learning experiences for our students. We encourage our students to be Christian and to share the responsibility of learning. By working together, we build the community of Christ with faith, hope and charity.
Our students at St. Paul are cherished for the uniqueness of their talents and personalities. We dedicate ourselves to the development of these gifts as each student continues to realize his or her potential while developing a knowledge of the "basic skills".
The school is the extension of the home's educational efforts. The child's initial learning, in the care of the parents, forms the basis on which the school builds as it takes a cooperative part in teaching. This continuation of education by the school does not release the parents from further training of the child. By its delegated authority from the parents, the school is to aid the parents in the forming of "true Christian" in the child.
Because of our creed, we believe that development of the intellect is only one phase of education. We strive to form young Christians; to form them spiritually and physically, mentally and morally, individually and socially. With such an exalted goal, the Catholic school takes your child into its care. By the spiritual atmosphere, guided lessons in religion, and pervading Christian spirit, the school works toward this end.
Teachers are responsible for carrying out the complete education of the students in their care within their departmentalized areas and self-contained classrooms. Through instruction, inspiration, and example they help to build in the children the attitudes, habits, and skills to fit them for Christ-like living in a democratic society.
MIDDLE SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Middle school students experience many changes in their three years at St. Paul. Our dedicated staff is trained to help students deal with the many physical, emotional, social, and academic changes that will occur over the next few years. We believe that adolescents need a warm, safe, and supportive Christ centered environment that will allow them to develop responsibility for their academic and social behavior. At St. Paul we encourage students to make positive choices as they deal with the complex issues of growing up.
St. Paul middle school students are expected to be role models for the rest of the school, to be involved in school activities, and to exhibit school spirit. We believe that their priorities should be academic growth, responsibility for their own learning and behavior, and the development of positive respectful relationships with their peers, adults, and members of the community of St. Paul.
