Ms. Linda Cooney - Principal
"We Are Called to Be the Light of Christ" is the theme of our school year. I truly felt the "Light of Christ" as I worked with the wonderful teachers getting ready for the school year. This "Light of Christ" was also very bright when I saw all our enthusiastic children enter the building at the start of the year. We have many exciting changes to our faculty and curriculum, I am confident it will be a great year! I can't believe I am starting my eighth year (time flies when you are having fun). I thank God each day for giving me the opportunity to be working with a dedicated group of teachers, an outstanding secretary, wonderful children, and supportive parents and volunteers.
Before arriving at St. Paul, I was principal at St. Peter in East Troy for four years. I have sixteen years of teaching experience at the primary, intermediate, and middle school levels. As a result, I have a strong commitment to be part of a faith community that impacts children both academically and spiritually.
My son Michael graduated from UW Stout this year. I thought it was hard to hold the tears when he graduated from High School. I am sure it has been an adjustment to be back home again. He is working very hard at the Marriott doing his internship in hopes of saving enough money to move out on his own!
God truly blessed my life when he gave me the opportunity to become part of this community. I look forward to working with all of you this year. I know it will be a year full of growth and many blessings for all of us.

Mrs. Ginni Sherfinski - First Grade
I'm happy to begin my 17th year of teaching at St. Paul's School. I received my Bachelor's degree and my Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I'm looking forward to a new school year. I plan to read a lot of books to the class, learn new things together and have some fun along the way.
This summer, I enjoyed babysitting for my grandsons, Noah, age 5, Luke, age 22 months and Tor, age 2 years. I also played a couple games of golf. I took a day trip to The Dells with a friend. We went on a water ride and rode the "Ducks". My husband and I visited our youngest daughter and her husband in Illinois.
Reading is my all time favorite thing to do. I hope to instill this love of reading in all my students. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year. I know we will all have a good time and the children will learn many new things.

Miss Judi Mickel - Second Grade
Greetings from the purple room! I'm celebrating my thirty-sixth year of teaching this year since I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. My shining stars and I look forward to having a super second grade learning experience!
I strive to help children learn life-long strategies for success. Our school motto this year will be "We Are Called To Be The Light Of Christ". We'll use this in our classroom to describe how we can live out each day by being more like Jesus. I want my students to grow in knowledge, but also develop more cooperation, responsibility, caring and honesty for themselves and others. May the Holy Spirit lead our way on this year's journey of learning, laughing and living out the WWJD motto and our daily reminder to do the DOG (Depend On God).
I live in Waukesha with my senior HAWS - adoptee Cocker Spaniel named Micki. When I'm not completing schoolwork, I enjoy walking with Micki, flower gardening, doing water aerobics, watching TCM, and shopping at my favorite store, Wal-Mart.

Ms. Wilhelmi - Third Grade
I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you how excited I am to be teaching third grade at St. Paul's. This will be my fifth year in education. In the winter of 2002 I graduated from Carroll College and moved to North Carolina. Go DUKE! I taught 5th grade for 2 years and loved it, but I missed my family dearly and decided to move back to the Midwest! After I moved back to Wisconsin I worked at Central Middle School in Waukesha and also at Burleigh Elementary in Brookfield as a Learning Support Teacher.
I hope that each of you has had a fun and relaxing summer. I have had a busy summer teaching summer school in Brookfield and also nannying for a family with 3 amazing children. They kept me on the go with all their activities! We spent many days at the pool, the library, shooting hoops at the YMCA, and visiting all the interesting places Milwaukee has to offer!
I am eager to begin this new school year, as I hope that you are too! I am certain that we will have a successful 2007-2008 school year together. I am so thrilled to be able to share my Catholic faith with the St. Paul's community. St. Paul's is a school that is recognized for its successes. This success is do to its parental support, students and dedicated staff. Let's work together to make this year successful!

Ms. Linda Chadek - Fourth Grade
Put a smile on your face, a song in your heart and always ask yourself, "How will I let my light shine for Jesus?" Welcome to the new school year. I'm Linda Chadek and I look forward to completing my 21st year here at St. Paul and 22nd year as a Parish member.
I'm excited to welcome in another great group of 4th graders and I have lots of "good stuff" waiting for them just inside my door!
I have two daughters who continue to expand their horizons. Jaime, now 26, who has been traveling around the U.S. of A. on a marketing tour for the Gore-Tex Company, will be looking to plant her feet at least for a while! I'm sure there will be another adventure right around the corner for her.
Erin, 24, will begin her second year as a Special Ed. teacher in Oak Creek, while finishing up her regular ed. certification. Then it's on to a Masters… I think. Needless to say they both make me a proud mom!
Outside of school I enjoy baking, reading, walking, singing, watching movies and who knows maybe THIS year guitar lessons will be in the cards! Although I love all those things, my #1 hobby is still teaching, where "Being the Best You Can Be" is our #1 goal.
God has given each of us a light, not to be hidden but to be shared. I look forward to turning on the switch and watching this year's 4th grade shine, shine, shine!

Mrs. Donna Roteik - Fifth Grade
Hello and welcome to a new school year and the fantastic fifth grade. I feel very fortunate to be able to teach the students at St. Paul. I bring with me 36 years of experience that includes 1st, 4th, PE, and present 5th grade. My degree was obtained from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
My children reside in Florida, Greg, 30, and Sarah, 27. Sarah is a wedding photographer. Greg is a pool and chimney technician. He sometimes is home in Wisconsin working to get the chimneys in order for the winter.
I live in Waukesha. In my free time, I like to play baseball, crochet, read, and dance. I enjoy spending time with my large family of seven brothers and sisters. I so enjoy the time I can still spend with my parents.
A blessed event, my daughter's wedding, will happen in Florida in October. I've been busy making trips to Florida, lots of phone calls, and of course, spending money. It will truly be a beautiful time.

Ms. Mary Pohlen - Sixth Grade
This is my 15th year working with the Middle School students at St. Paul. They help to keep me on my toes with their spontaneity, creativity, questions, and ever-changing moods!
I graduated from the UW-Milwaukee and since receiving my teaching degree have attended several colleges taking post-graduate courses during the summer in a variety of topics - especially in math, writing, and reading curriculum courses. After one graduates from college it is nice to be able to choose what courses to take! Other courses range from dinosaurs to the Civil War.
I live in West Allis and love working on gardening and decorating projects. I love to travel, not to relax, but to learn new things. I find I love the natural more than the historical. I wish I could travel more! I love reading (I've been known to hug my favorite books), puzzles of all kinds, the outdoors, going out to eat with friends, plays, concerts, The Packers, and shopping for bargains. I have two cats, one of which sometimes eats my homework.
I think the students and parents of St. Paul are the greatest! I feel fortunate to work with the students here at St. Paul. Let us reflect on the Light of Christ to all we meet and in all we do!

Mrs. Barb Romanello - Seventh Grade & Middle School Social Studies
I am happy to be returning yet to another successful school year at St. Paul. I have come full circle this year having my very first class here at school in first grade and once again now as seventh graders. I wonder if they still think I am GREAT?! Anyway they cannot use the excuse they never were taught that before.
I graduated from Ripon College with a degree in theology and an elementary teaching license for grades 1-8.
I met my best friend, Greg at college and married him. We celebrated our 29th year this July. We have four children, all who have graduated from St. Paul School.
The four have kept us extremely busy over the years with their educational and career goals of coaching, teacher, communicator, writer, vacation planner, hotel owner, and professional athlete. Greg and I are very proud of our children and have been blessed with good health and happiness.
Our newest chapter in life takes us to the role of grandparents. The newest addition to our family came at the end of July in the way of a little 8lb. baby boy, Joseph Daniel. Although he does not live close by, the advancement in technology will allow us to still spoil him.
We have been active members of St. Paul Parish since 1980. We have found great pleasure sharing the various ministries that St. Paul has to offer. We are called to be the light of Christ!

Mrs. Mary Kral - Eighth Grade & Middle School Science
I am beginning my sixth year in middle school at St. Paul. I graduated from UW Whitewater with a BS in education and a dual major in elementary ed and special ed. I taught 5th grade at Mother of Good Counsel in Milwaukee for four years. At the time, my husband and I were planning to move to this area and I left MGC to find a job with a shorter drive. Little did I know I'd end up driving to Cedarburg! I worked for the mortgage division of M&I and spent 11 years in Human Resources. My experiences as an HR manager influence my teaching. Qualities I looked for in new hires are qualities I emphasize with my students as they get ready for high school: participation, politeness, hard work that distinguishes a person, and positive relationships with others.
I have been married to Bob for 26 years; we have two daughters. Moriah is a junior at Catholic Memorial and Nora is in my homeroom this year. We have been parish members for 13 years and have enjoyed being involved in many aspects of parish life such as Renew, Parish Council, the Lector ministry, Prayer and Worship, the Building Committee, and the Chair Ministry. IN addition, our family volunteers for two fundraisers each year for Multiple Sclerosis: the MS Walk in the spring and the MS 150 Bike Tour in August. A unique part of our family would be our animals: two guinea pigs, 3 dogs, 14 chickens, and two goats! Being involved in all our activities brings blessings and learning experiences for our family.

Mrs. McClellan - Spanish
My name is Myriam McClellan and I have been teaching for eight years now. Besides working at St.Paul's, I also work at St.Bruno's and WCTC. I enjoy the diversity of teaching the younger kids and also teaching the more mature crowd. At WCTC I train employees from different companies to speak Spanish. I love this because it makes me realize how important it is to learn a second language.
I live in Waukesha with my husband Quinn and my three children.; Jessica 13, Brittany 11 and Aaron five. My children keep me very busy, but when I am not running them around, I enjoy taking walks and spending time with my friends and family.
I hope that the children at St.Paul's find that learning a second language can actually be fun!
I am looking forward to a wonderful and blessed year and to meeting all the parents!

Mrs. Patty Steiner - Computer Teacher
Welcome back to a new school year, I am Patty Steiner the Computer Teacher here at St. Paul's. I am starting my 17th year as an Elementary Computer teacher in the Archdiocese, and my 5th year here at St. Paul's. I received my BA in Elementary Education from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN, and my Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Technology Integration.

Mrs. Becky Heiman - School
Secretary/Health Room Coordinator
I'm very happy to begin my 5th year at St. Paul School. As I watch the students arrive with excitement on their first day of school, it makes me a bit anxious to be leaving my little one in the "outside" line. My son started kindergarten this year! Where did the time go?
I was born in this beautiful section of Southeast Wisconsin and was baptized at St. Paul's. I feel that this personal history helps bring a special understanding for the St. Paul students as I tackle the everyday office details of their school lives. You can also look for me during the weekend masses, as I act as cantor and member of the parish choir.

Mrs. Barb Berner - Librarian
I have been involved with St. Paul's Library since. 1983. The first 17 years were as a volunteer and in fall 2000 I became a part-time member of the staff. I graduated from UW-Stout in Home Economics in Business in 1975. Until 1983, I was a kitchen designer at Green Bay Kitchen Mart.
I have been married for 33 years to my husband, Jim, a food broker. Both of our sons, Jeff, age 30, and Andy, age 21, graduated from St. Paul's. Jeff runs our family-owned HobbyTown USA store in New Berlin and Andy is a senior at UW-Stevens Point. In March 2004, we were blessed with our first grandchild, Anna.
At St. Paul's I've been active in the following: Art and Environment, Forensics coach and judge, Watkins Sale Coordinator, Scholastic Book Fair Chair, Library Club Advisor, Great America Reading Program, National Geographic Bee, Reader's Digest Word Power Challenge and Civic Oration judge. This school year I plan to bring back the school spelling bee.
Outside of the library, I enjoy taking photos and entering at the Waukesha Co. Fair, Walworth Co. Fair and Wisconsin State Fair. I also grow vegetables and flowers and have been a 4-H leader for 21 years.
It's hard to believe that our library has been computerized for nine years and that our collection is close to 10,000 volumes. I am very fortunate to have so many wonderful devoted library moms that help all year long.
